Fallout® 4 Mod -Disrupting the Market
Solo Project
Aug 2017 - Aug 2018
Engine: Creation Kit
Disrupting the Market is a Fallout® 4 quest mod I created in Fallout® 4's Creation Kit and is currently out on PC and Xbox One! I worked on this with professors Christopher Orth (Infamous 2) and Bill Morrison (Crimson Skies, X-Wing Series) at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Released in July 2018, this mod has over 3,000 downloads across 3 websites and has been featured on Nexus Mods' social media pages.
It has been featured on Nexus Mods social media pages as a highlight mod as well!

Project Purpose:
This mod was made for an independent study I organized in conjunction with several faculty members at DigiPen Institute of Technology to better my skills as a content designer. This independent study also served the purpose of designing in an existing IP and following Bethesda Game Studios® design standards for level and encounter design as closely as possible (as learned from GDC talks). I was responsible for the level, narrative, and encounter design as well as implementation.
Project Outcome:
This mod adds two new interior spaces to pre-existing buildings as well as set dresses to five exterior spaces throughout the downtown area of the Commonwealth, 5 new NPCs with dialogue options, and an hour to an hour and a half of gameplay depending on how the player goes through it.
This mod taught me a lot on how the Creation Kit works and how Bethesda Game Studios approaches level design and pacing. I've since been able to help other students at DigiPen use the Creation Kit as well as how to scope their project in it with the time frame they have.
Post-production:
Since the launch, I have been in live-dev fixing bugs and improving the encounters. I have also done a lot of optimization work to increase performance on lower end machines. There has been a lot of feedback given on forums and websites. The overwhelming majority of people have really enjoyed this mod! Players love the interior spaces, encounters, and overall story to the quest. The biggest complaint was that it was a linear story with not a whole lot of player choice. As such, I wrapped up version 2.0 which introduced a 3rd quest to the mod that allows the player to side with the opposing faction, adds 6 new endings and over an hour more of content to the quest!
Quest Description:
This quest brings the player into a conflict between two alcohol manufacturers in the Commonwealth. The player comes to the aid of a moonshine runner group from Virginia that traveled out here to expand their business. But, the Wellingtons, who have been in the Commonwealth since before the bombs dropped, are trying to take out any and all competition that may arise. It is up to the player to help free the Commonwealth from the hold the Wellingtons have on it and disrupt the market.
